Crime, antisocial behaviour & nuisance Domestic abuse - help and support

A more secure home without the violent person

If the abusive person no longer lives with you, we can help make your home safer and more secure so you can continue to live there independently.

We can create a secure 'sanctuary room' in your home, often the main bedroom, putting in a new solid door with steel hinges, bolts and a door-viewer. We may fit other security like locks on windows and doors, window grilles, gates and anti-arson letterboxes.

Your individual needs

The work is all free and tailored to your individual needs. It doesn't matter what type of housing you live in - council, housing association, renting from a private landlord, or a home you own.

It's called the 'Sanctuary scheme'.

Help and advice too

Making your home safer is only one part of the picture. We will also give you the advice and support you need to help you stay living independently in your own home.
