Emergency Plans
Multi-Agency Plans for Manchester
Preparing for an emergency cannot be done in isolation, to use our resources in the most efficient way during the 'response phase', we need to work together to share information and best practise during the 'planning phase'.
This involves several different agencies working together to understand individual organisation's roles and responsibilities, as identified in the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, using 'exercises' to practise the emergency response and to identify lessons learned to improve the response in the future.
The Emergency Planning Section actively contributes to the development and maintenance of the following plans for the Manchester region:
- Manchester Airport - Emergency Orders
- Off-site plans for three Chemical Company Sites subject to the Control Of Major Accident Hazard regulations (COMAH)
- City Centre Evacuation Plan
- Environment Agency Flood Plan - Manchester (Didsbury / Northenden)
- Environment Agency (external site)
- Sport City Evacuation Plan
