Women
Domestic violence
The Council wants to ensure that women have an input into the planning and delivery of Council services and that their needs are taken account of.
Domestic Violence
The Council is involved in raising the awareness of domestic violence as a serious crime and developing interagency work to tackle this. We are involved in developing a co-ordinated approach to recording domestic violence incidents across all agencies.
Domestic violence is now one of the ten key priorities within the Crime and Disorder Strategy. It is a city wide and multi-agency initiative.

Prostitution
The Council works towards reducing the impact of prostitution and its associated crime on the residents and visitors to Manchester. We have appointed a court diversionary worker to help prostitutes connect up to education and training facilities.
We supported Manchester Action Street Health (MASH) put two outreach workers in post, and obtain funding to support the Real Choices Project.
