Social Care and Support for Older People
Older People's Social Support
Getting Older can mean facing challenges you didn't have when you were younger.
In Manchester we know that as people get older, the thing people usually want most is to remain as independent and active as possible, whilst living at home as long as they can. We also know that asking for help when you do need it is often the hardest thing to do.
Manchester City Council can support you to keep your independence and live the life you want to, for as long as possible.
If you are struggling to live your life as fully as you want to, we can put you in touch with services to help, many of which can be free, and where the services do have a cost, we can see if you're entitled to any help with those costs.
To speak to someone about getting help or support, get in touch with the Adults and Children's Social Care Contact Service.
To search a database of services which might be appropriate for you, some of which might be free, take a look at MyManchesterServices (under Further Information, below) and choose 'Getting Older' from the left hand menu.
Manchester City Council also provides services for people with Sensory Impairments.
