Join Manchester Public Libraries
Membership is free and open to anyone who resides in the UK.
Pick up an application form at any library. Staff are on hand to help you fill in the form if you prefer. A library ticket will be made out for you which you can use straight away to borrow books. You will need to provide one form of proof of your name and address eg. a recent utility bill. You will also receive a copy of our Customer Charter welcoming you to the library.
If you are under 16 you can join the library by yourself - there is no need to get a parent/carers signature. We will send your parent/carer a letter to tell them about the services you are entitled to.
Are you visiting Manchester from outside the UK and want to use our library computers to email home or surf the web? Talk to our staff and they will enrol you on a guest ticket.
Join Online
It's easy to join the library. Fill in our simple online form and we'll give you a membership number. You can use this to make reservations, write reviews and to access online reference materials straight away. Then just visit any of our libraries, we'll give you a ticket and you can start borrowing.
