Open every Sunday from 7am-2pm.

The market is held at New Smithfield Wholesale Market, Ashton Old Road in Openshaw.

The carboot brings together a huge range of goods. There is clothing for all ages, bric-a-brac, shoes and trainers, new and second-hand furniture, household products, craft stalls, pots and pans, flowers and garden plants.

As well as the usual second-hand goods, there are pet products, fresh meat, books, videos, CDs, fresh fruit and vegetables all available at the indoor Sunday Market.

There is also a handy cafe on site.

Charges

• The daily fees for trading spaces vary depending on the goods you are selling. If you are selling second hand goods on a traditional out door Real Car Boot trading space, the fee is £15.00. For those not selling second hand goods, the daily fee is £42.00 per space. Please remember that you will be charged the full daily space fee for every space or part space that you use.

Do I need to book?

• If you want to sell second hand goods there's no need to book a trading space in advance. Just turn up on Sunday and join the queue at the back of the market. Gates open from 5am. Outdoor pitches and casual spaces are allocated on a first come, first served basis from 6am onwards.
• You can apply for a permit to trade from the same pitch at the New Smithfield Sunday Market & Car Boot on a regular basis. To apply, please fill in the online form, call 0161 234 7357 or email manchestermarkets@manchester.gov.uk to request a SCB application form.

Trading spaces

• We provide the trading space only. If you require tables or stalls you will need to supply your own.
• The size of each trading space is roughly 6m deep by 3m selling frontage (20ft x 10ft). There is enough room to park your car and place a table at the front. However, if you prefer, you can offload your wares onto the space and remove your vehicle to one of the parking spaces on the market.
