Becoming an approved venue for civil marriages and civil partnerships

Submitting an application for approval as a venue for civil marriages and civil partnerships. (non-religious buildings)

Applications can be submitted on-line or in hard copy (paper based).

A non-returnable fee of £900.00 is payable for a three year approval (grant or renewal)

There are other applications for approved venues available online, they include:

  • applications for renewal of approvals
  • applications for approval of additional rooms
  • informing the authority of changes of circumstances

Hard copy application for approval

If you are submitting a paper based application for approval as a venue for civil marriages and civil partnerships, you will need to submit the following:

Payment

  • A non returnable fee of £900.00 is payable for a three year approval (grant or renewal).
  • Payment may be made by cash or a cheque made payable to Manchester City Council.
  • Debit and Credit Cards are also accepted by telephone (except American Express and Diners Card).
