Parenting Strategy
A parenting strategy for Manchester
A strategy is a statement of what we are trying to achieve and how we think we are going to achieve it. The aim of our parenting strategy is to make sure that every parent in Manchester has the confidence and skills they need to give their child the best possible start in life.
Manchester's Positive and Responsible Parenting Strategy was launched in September 2006. You can download a summary and full version of the strategy below. We are also producing versions for circulation to parents, children and young people.
The strategy shows that much has been achieved through partnership working, but there is still a great deal of work to do. The consultation process for the strategy has shown wide support for what we are trying to achieve, but has also highlighted further development areas. This strategy is a working document which highlights progress and priorities at the time of writing. It will be supported by a work plan which will continue to change and develop over time. We welcome feedback, and will continue to consult with parents, children and young people, and with staff working with families in Manchester, to ensure the continued development of the strategy.
