Residents' Permits
About Residents' Permits
In certain areas of the city local residents are entitled to use a permit to enable them to park near their homes. When issuing or renewing a permit we will need proof of car ownership and a recent utility bill to confirm residency.
Certain areas of Manchester have been designated resident parking zones including:
- Ancoats (see a list of eligible households)
- Ardwick (see update)
- City centre (find out more about the city centre on-street and off-street residents schemes)
- Hulme (see a list of eligible streets)
- Loxford Court (Hulme) (see a list of eligible streets)
- Sportcity (find out more about the Sportcity permit scheme)

Certain terms and conditions apply when using a permit. These vary from scheme to scheme. Please check the terms and conditions for your area before applying for a permit.
Permits must always be displayed when the vehicle occupies a parking place during the restricted hours. Failure to display a permit may result in the issue of a parking ticket.
