Ladybarn Park
About Ladybarn Park
Ladybarn Park is situated in a student and residential community in Withington. One side is laid out with a lawn and shrubberies while on the opposite site, near the bowling greens and play facilities, there is a garden consisting of lawns and bright cheerful flower beds. One of the dramatic sights of Ladybarn Park is the row of Lombardi Poplars looming over the park.
In 2010, Ladybarn Park was awarded a Green Flag Award for achieving the national standard for parks and green spaces.
Ladybarn Park is mainly used for children's play, informal recreation, dog walking and by Ladybarn Veterans Bowling Club, the Youth Service, Manchester Play Team and school groups. The active Friends of Ladybarn Park work to improve and promote the site.
Improvements made to the park in recent years included the installation of bilingual signage, pathway repairs and improvements to the Burnage entrance of the park including resurfacing works and the installation of a new associated gateway. The stone pillars at the main entrance have been refurbished to improve their visual quality.
