Old Moat Park

Old Moat Park lies in the heart of the Old Moat ward in close proximity to Withington village. The park has seen a lot of improvements in recent years resulting in its successful achievement of the Green Flag Award in 2005 and 2006 and 2010 the national standard for parks and green spaces in England and Wales and benchmark of excellence in recreational green areas.

The site is comprised mainly of amenity grassland, shrubs and parkland trees around the perimeters, and predominantly used for play, sports, informal recreation and dog walking by the local community, families and children and young people. Local university students also use the park for sport and relaxation.

The Friends of Old Moat Park actively work with Manchester's Leisure staff to improve and promote the site.
