Platt Fields Park

Platt Hall

 

Platt Hall, which forms a dramatic backdrop within Platt fields Park, was built at a a cost of £10,000 in 1746 in Georgian design and took the place of a timbered black and white building which stood at right angles to the present hall facing Wilmslow Road. Captain Worsely, who resided in Platt Hall, led the military at the Peterloo Massacre.

The Hall is today a listed building, and home to Manchester's Costume Gallery.  This is manged by the Galleries section of Manchester City Council and has it's own web pages.  Click this link to visit their pages.
