About Boggart Hole Clough

Green Flag Award

Boggart Hole Clough, in North Manchester, is classified as an Ancient Woodland and is steeped in history.  The park combines a number of picturesque cloughs varying from steep ravines to gentle sloping gullies.

An attractive haven for relaxation the park also boasts a number of activities, from boating to athletics, and is well worth a visit.  Annually the park stages a number of cross-country events, mountain bike rides, summer Fundays and an annual bonfire and firework display.

Members of Festival Manchester, in 2010,  held clean up sessions which included painting knee rails, litter picking in the dells and around the lake, and planting of bulbs around the public car park on Charlestown Road.

In 2010, Boggart Hole Clough attained the Green Flag Award for the 11th year running.  The award is the national benchmark standard for parks and open spaces.

There is a very proactive 'Friends' group at Boggart Hole Clough; the Boggart Hole Clough Community Action Trust.  Use this external link to contact the group or find out how to join: http://www.boggart.org.uk
