Introduction to the Warden Service
Manchester's Park Warden service has 22 full time wardens who are are based in parks citywide, with an additional number of seasonal wardens who help deliver a fun packed summer programme for children. Each warden is designated to one or more political wards.
Park wardens, or rangers as they are also sometimes called, are a people presence in Manchester's parks. They deliver a diverse and multi-functional service based on seven core roles.
Wardens act as community liaisons, work with schools and local groups to organise interesting, exciting, fun and interactive activities for people of all ages and abilities, and also work to promote a healthy lifestyle.

- Health walks
- Pond dipping
- Tree and bulb planting
- Nature trail following and construction
- Bug hunts
- Litter picks

- Easter, Christmas and Mothers Day card making
- Decoration making
