Cringle Park
About Cringle Park
Situated in Levenshulme and closely bordering Burnage, Cringle Park is 7 km from Manchester City Centre. This 14 hectare park is an important recreational open space, surrounded on all sides by a mixture of private housing and industrial commerce. The main entrance to the site can be found on Crossley Road.
In 2010, the park was awarded a Green Flag Award, the national benchmark of excellence for parks.
It is a perfect setting for relaxation and quiet enjoyment, as well as offering a range of sports facilities and exciting children's play.
Cringle Park enjoys:
- a multi-sports court
- a children's playground
- a Beehive pay centre
- a bowling green and bowls pavilion
- a large area of grassland
- a large wooded area woodland with mature trees in grass.
The site is well used for a wide range of activities including sports and play, strolling and dog walking, picnicing and crown green bowling.
Cringle Park has a strong and active 'Friends Of' group who support community events and actively campaign for improvements in the park. Older members of the community frequently use the bowling pavilion for social activities and local schools use the park for sports and fun-days, i.e. activities and wider curriculum studies.
