Further support and information

Although in general neighbourhood planning is led by the Qualifying Bodies, we may be able to help prepare Neighbourhood Plans or Neighbourhood Development Orders. This help could include:

  • Setting out strategic policies in the Core Strategy or Unitary Development Plan that any Neighbourhood Plan needs to comply with.
  • Providing advice on any legal requirements relating to neighbourhood planning.
  • Checking neighbour area and forum applications, and Neighbourhood Plans and Development Orders before these are formally submitted.
  • Carrying out consultation on Neighbourhood Plans and Neighbourhood Development Orders at the end of the process, once they have been submitted to the Council.

Community groups may find details from the evidence base supporting the Core Strategy useful for preparing neighbourhood plans.
