Road Safety Traffic Schemes
About our service
Each year we undertakes a programme of work throughout the city to improve the safety of Manchester's roads.
The focus of all our road safety programmes will be the treatment of collision hotspots, and in particular any sites where a serious injury or fatality has happened.
Engineers from our Traffic Engineering Section examine each site to identify and design a road safety scheme that will reduce the risk of recurring collisions. Once these schemes have been designed, we will consult you to find out your views and the scheme will continue.
