Welcome To Sports Development
Who are we
Leisure Services Sports Development (LSSD) was established in 1993 and works with a wide range of agencies to improve access to sporting opportunity across the city.
Sports Development is closely aligned to delivery against local, regional and national targets in respect of crime reduction, the economy, health, education, cultural and environmental benefits.
As such the LSSD team now combines sports specific development officers with Community Sports Development Officers (CSDOs) and funded 'target group' Development Officers, such as; Activity Specific Sports Development, School Community and Positive Future Development Officers.
All sports development programmes are designed to maximise participation in sport from all sections of the community and provide pathways that enable every Manchester resident to maximise their sporting abilities, aspirations and potential.
