Sheltered housing for older people
Sheltered housing: independence with support
If you're in your 60s or older, you've probably got decades of experience running your own home. Perhaps you now want the security of knowing help is close by if you need it.
'Sheltered housing' comes in a range of modern properties, each with a member of staff on standby if you need a hand or there's an emergency.
Support staff; day or night
Choose from apartments, bungalows and one- or two-bedroom flats. You get your own intercom to contact support staff, day or night; and your own private bathroom and kitchen.
Some properties have social facilities shared between neighbours, and guest rooms for family or friends to stay.
Provided by the City Council and other not-for-profit landlords across Manchester, sheltered homes are available to rent from as little as £55 a week. You could probably get housing benefit to pay some or all of your rent.
