Fair is just the job
Manchester City Council will be hosting its first city-centre based Jobs Fair for black and minority ethnic communities on Tuesday 20 January 2009 between 11am and 4pm at Manchester Town Hall.
The event is being held in partnership with Barclays Contact Centre Manchester, The Co-operative Financial Services, Manchester University and Stepping Stones.
People attending can find out how to increase their independence and confi- dence when applying for jobs. They can also find out what's on offer from a wide variety of employers from the private, public and voluntary sectors, who will be available to answer queries about job opportunities. A wide variety of vacancies will be available on the day.
Visitors can also obtain advice on employment-related matters, training and educational opportunities. Free workshops will also take place, offering practical advice on completing application forms and interview techniques.
Although the Jobs Fairs are targeted at attracting groups that are generally underrepresented within the workforce, everyone is welcome to attend.
