Rediscover reading this summer!

The BookBench Trail – can you visit them all?

On display across Manchester until 10 September, there are 58 book-shaped benches that have been painted in literary themes by local schools and community groups.

Events will be taking place at the venues where they’re on display. You can follow a trail between the BookBenches, while children can complete fun activities along the way.

It’s a fun and free way to get kids excited about reading.

Rediscover a love of reading with the Six Read Challenge

Manchester Reading Ahead invites you to pick six things to read over the summer, then record, rate and review them in a special diary to receive a certificate.

You can choose to read anything, including books (or e-books), newspapers, magazines, comics and graphic novels.

Reading is a great way to spend time together as a family, so you could also choose six children’s books and enjoy them with your children or grandchildren.

To take part, ask at any Manchester library - they’ll give you a reading diary and get you started.

Alternatively, visit www.readmanchester.org.uk
