Great British Spring Clean

The Great British Spring Clean has one simple ambition: getting the whole country together to clear litter and brighten up our towns, villages, countryside and coastline.

Throughout March, Keep Britain Tidy and partners such as Manchester City Council, Costa, McDonalds, Greggs and Lidl want to inspire 500,000 people to get outdoors and get active by clearing up litter and stopping it being dropped in the first place!

So we're calling on everyone: individuals, community groups, schools, charities, sports clubs, businesses and many more, to sign up and take part.

Action is concentrated around the weekend of Friday 2 to Sunday 4 March 2018. Go to the Great British Spring Clean website to take part.

We know people are proud of Manchester and where they live. Join the ever-growing band who want to give their time and make a stand.

See the guide to organising a clean-up, register your own event, or see what's already planned and join in. Print out posters and download social-media images and logos.

If you need any help or resources, please contact your local neighbourhood teams, which have some Great British Clean rubbish bags and may be able to lend you equipment such as litter-pickers.

It would be great to see as many events as possible across the city, so come and join us to get outdoors, get active, meet new people and help clean up our neighbourhoods.
