Local transport capital plan from government
About this service
Manchester City Council annually receives an amount of funding (referred to as the Local Transport Plan Capital Allocation) from central government. The Council is responsible for allocating this funding and ensuring that it is used as effectively as possible.
Manchester City Council's Local Transport Capital Programme covers about a hundred traffic schemes each year. These schemes usually include modifications to existing highways and street features and the creation of new features to improve road safety or traffic management. Also included in the programme are strategic maintenance works for bridges, roads and footways.
