Adult Placement

What is Adult Placement

Sign VideoAdult Placement is a service whereby people who need support to live independently can do so in the home of individuals or families who are approved providers. The Manchester Adult Placement Services scheme widens the choice of services open to vulnerable people living in the community, giving them the opportunity of experiencing life within another family setting; or receiving informal support in their own home or the community.

Who is it for?

The people who may be able to access our services come from a range of service user groups for example: older people, people with physical and / or learning disabilities, and people with mental health problems.

How do I know if I'm eligible?

A care manager assesses your situation according to pre agreed eligibility criteria. They might decide that an Adult placement service is right for you. If not, they'll be able to point you towards other services which might be of benefit.

How do I apply?

If you've had a social care assessment, speak to your care manager. If you haven't had an assessment, get in touch with our Contact Service for Social Care
