Noise from streetworks
Different rules apply for building work on or adjacent to the highway. Generally the permitted hours for works undertaken on the highway are as follows:
- Monday to Saturday: 7.30am - 11pm*
- Sundays and Bank Holidays: 9.30am - 11pm*
*No noisy work to be carried out after 10.30pm
Please note that due to local conditions these times may vary. Permission to work on or adjacent to the highway must be sought from us in advance of the work.
Contractors must ensure that noisy plant and equipment are not kept running when they are not being used, and that contractors must keep the approaches to the sites clear and tidy.
