feed your dog at regular times and with a nutritionally balanced diet;

keep the dishes for your dog separate from your own;

make sure that you keep your dog on a lead near roads and on pavements;

train your dog not to foul in public places - if it does, clean it up;

remember that a dog barking can be a nuisance;

make sure you provide a bed or a place for your dog to sleep;

never take your dog into a food shop - tie it by its lead to a post outside;

keep your dog clean and regularly groomed;

if you do not want your dog to have puppies, talk to your vet about neutering or spaying;

it is your responsibility to make sure your dog is looked after whilst you are on holiday; and

register your pet with a vet, to ensure the health of your dog.
