Health Matters

The Health Information Point provides material on all sorts of health issues. There are books to borrow, leaflets to take away, regular events and displays and information on organisations offering help and advice. Free internet access directs you to helpful websites checked for accuracy by health professionals. 

Health Information Points provide information on:

  • Illnesses and medical conditions
  • Medicines and treatments
  • Alternative therapies
  • Healthy living: nutrition, exercise, diet, stopping smoking
  • Pregnancy and childcare
  • Finding health professionals such as GPs, dentists and opticians
  • Mental health

There is a Health Information Point in each of our libraries.

  • Beating the Blues: help with anxiety and depression

    Beating The Blues, an 8-session computer-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (cCBT) course for those experiencing depression and/or anxiety, is now available at North City Library and the Forum Library Wythenshawe . The service is provided by Self Help Services, and can be accessed via self-referral - for further information on the service, please call Self Help Services on 0161 2327854.
