New - Some parish registers for the Manchester area can now be viewed on-line at Familysearch.
Microfilm copies for many Lancashire and Cheshire parishes, and a few in Derbyshire, are held at Manchester Room@City Library. Original registers for some Manchester Diocese parishes which have not been microfilmed can be consulted at the Greater Manchester County Record Office by prior appointment. Published volumes of the Lancashire Parish Register Society can be seen in the Manchester Room@City Library, whilst the Society's unpublished transcripts can be consulted in the Greater Manchester County Record Office by prior appointment.
