Libraries Things for children

See what's on at your library

Join the Summer reading challenge 2016! Read six books over the summer holidays (4 July - 11 September) to collect special collector cards, stickers and goodies. The 'big friendly read' celebrates 100 years of the world's greatest storyteller; Roald Dahl.

If you are between 4 and 11 years old, sign up at your local library and come along to one of many free activities.

Manchester library and information service provides a wide range of services to children, young people and their carers through a network of libraries across the city.

All libraries have collections of books for children from board books and picture books for the very young, to stories and information books, through to books for teenagers and graphic novels.

Sharing books from an early age feeds the imagination, encourages the enjoyment of reading and forms the foundation of literacy

We also have a wide range of e-books and audio books for children - browse our collection with overdrive.
