No matter how large or small your office or workplace is, it couldn't be easier to become Fairtrade Friendly. Manchester City Council has compiled a directory of shops and cafes and restaurants all based in Manchester, where you can order your Fairtrade products

There are so many Fairtrade product ranges out there you should find something to suit everyone.

So many people in the workplace find their consumer choice stifled due to the domination of multinational companies in the vending and retail market. If you believe that you or your colleagues should have freedom of choice when it comes to ethical purchasing then get busy and become a Fairtrade Friendly office or workplace!!

Getting Manchester City Council Fairtrade Friendly Accreditation

To achieve Fairtrade Friendly status you can:

• Use Fairtrade tea and coffee in your brew group
• Put up a Fairtrade poster display near the kitchen or canteen
•  Have an "order up" campaign, to urge your works shop or café to stock Fairtrade
• Write an article for your works intranet or staff newsletter
• Find out who deals with the contracts for vending machines and ask them to supply Fairtrade alternatives
• Talk to your catering manager about stocking Fairtrade alternatives in all outlets
• Let Manchester City Council know!

Once you have managed two or more of these goals, let us know. We can then accredit you as being Fairtrade Friendly.
