To Become a Fairtrade Friendly

Manchester takes pride in having a strong community, which is reflected in the hundreds of community groups in and around the city

If you run or are a member of one of these groups you can help your group do even more by becoming Fairtrade Friendly. In line with the giving nature of community groups you can help farmers in other countries get a fair price for their products.

There are many things Community Groups can do to become Fairtrade Friendly

• Have a Fairtrade awareness meeting to tell people about Fairtrade
• Write an article for your newsletter
• Exclusively use Fairtrade tea and coffee for meetings
• Have a stall at events selling Fairtrade products to raise money for the group
• Hold a taste testing session
• Put up a Fairtrade information display
• Use Fairtrade as a subject for discussion at your next meeting or service
• Let Manchester City Council know!!
