Fixed Penalty Notices
All about Fixed Penalty Notices
In Manchester, we pride ourselves on being a leading authority in keeping our streets clean and safe. Our wider Enforcement Family focuses on a number of priorities, making sure that environmental issues and crimes are tackled.
Where a crime is recorded, the officers may issue a Fixed Penalty Notice.
Fixed Penalty Notices (FPN) generally deal with environmental offences such as litter, graffiti and dog fouling, and can be issued by local authority officers and other authorised officers. The FPN is issued as an alternative to a prosecution in court.
If you wish to have further information about the types of crimes that we enforce against, please see our Environmental Crimes & Anti-Social Behaviour section.
FPNs can be issued to anyone over 10 years old and penalties will vary according to the offence.
