City Centre street wardens
Tackling street crime
We take pride in being a vibrant and lively city. We aim to make it a clean and safe city, for all the residents, workers and visitors to Manchester.
We are dedicated to fighting crime and anti-social behaviour in the city centre. We carry out high-visibility patrols to deter crime and promote community confidence, and we keep a watchful eye for troublemakers. We work closely with the police, council departments and other agencies and are working hard to make our city a safer place.
We report incidences of crime, nuisance and anti-social behaviour, and regularly feed back intelligence to the police. We attend multi-agency tasking and coordination meetings, where we can share information and ideas with the police and other groups.
We have legislative powers to combat the scourge of local environmental crimes such as littering, abandoned vehicles, fly-tipping and discarded chewing gum.
