The Warm Front grant
The Warm Front grant helps people on low incomes cut their fuel bills and enjoy a warmer home. It offers energy efficiency and heating improvements up to the value of £3,500 - or up to £6,000 to install or repair oil central heating.
Can you get it?
You can claim if you are the householder (or if you live with the householder as their spouse or partner) AND:
1. you are aged 60 or over and get any of these benefits:
- Income Support
- Council Tax Benefit
- Housing Benefit
- Job Seekers Allowance (income-based)
- Pension Credit
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
OR
2. you have a child under 16 or are pregnant (you need to have maternity certificate MAT B1) and get any of these benefits:
- Income Support
- Council Tax Benefit
- Housing Benefit
- Job Seekers Allowance (income-based)
- Pension Credit
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
OR
3. you get any of these benefits:
- Working Tax Credit with a 'disability element', and with an income of less than £15,460 per year
- Disability Living Allowance (this benefit must be received by you or your partner - not a child or anyone else in the household)
- Attendance Allowance
- Child Tax Credit with an income of less than £15,460 per year
- Housing Benefit that includes a 'disability premium'
- Income Support that includes a 'disability premium'
- Council Tax Benefit that includes a 'disability premium'
- War Disablement Pension that includes a Constant Attendance Allowance or Mobility supplement
- Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit that includes a Constant Attendance Allowance
If you're not sure whether the benefit you get includes any of these premiums or supplements, check your award letter.
If your home has benefited from a Warm Front grant in the past, the amount you can get will be reduced by the amount of the previous grant.
