Home Energy Loan Plan (HELP)

Are you are a homeowner and want to cut the cost of your fuel bills? By making energy efficiency improvements to your home, an interest-free HELP loan could be the answer.

A HELP loan can pay for:

  • central heating
  • external/internal and eco-friendly insulation
  • renewable energy (solar PV, electricity or heat recovery systems), or
  • replacement windows and doors (double glazing).

A HELP loan helps you to:

  • reduce fuel bills
  • reduce your carbon emissions
  • improve the condition of your home
  • make your home warmer and more comfortable, and
  • improve the energy efficiency of your home.

A HELP loan can also be used to finance improvements if you live in any of the Green Deal Community areas (Higher Blackley, Levenshulme, Whalley Range and Northenden).

How to apply for HELP?

You can apply for the Home Energy Loan Plan if you are a homeowner living in the city.

Loans have a set-up charge and an annual administration charge, however no interest is charged on the loan.
