The Barlow RC High School is currently undergoing an £11.2million rebuild and refurbishment as part of the Building Schools for the Future Programme. Early phases of the project which have been completed include the transformation of a Drama hall into a gymnasium allowing for the demolition of the old gymnasium. A new two storey science block has been constructed and incorporates a new school hall and student services.
The main school entrance and reception has been remodelled to provide a modern and welcoming face for visitors, staff and pupils.
Landscaping enhancement ties in all of the new-build, refurbishment and remodelling elements together and will also be carried out over the summer.
The final phase of the project will include the refurbishment of the Art, Music and Design Technology facilities providing high quality and ICT rich teaching spaces for learning. The project is due for completion in Spring 2012.
