Parent Carer Forum

Parent Carer Forum

The Aiming High for Disabled Children (AHDC) project established a for Manchester parents of disabled children to bridge the gap between those commissioning services and those using them.   The forum enables Manchester parents to influence decisions about disabled children's services provided or funded by the Council.

Manchester Carers Forum received a grant to help establish the forum.  The Council also provided additional funding for things like training for members.  We are providing more funding in 2011/12 to ensure the forum continues, and they will play a key role in shaping services for disabled children in Manchester.  The forum decided to call themselves "Manchester Parent Carer Network".
