Asking us to change our decision
You must ask us in writing if you want us to change our decision:
- Housing Benefit - we must get your letter or form within one month of the date of our decision letter.
- Council Tax Support - there is no time limit for you to ask us to change our decision but we must reply to you within two months or you can appeal to the Valuation Tribunal Service.
- Council Tax Benefit - Council Tax Benefit decisions are becoming rarer but if you receive a decision and you want us to change it we must get your letter or form within one month of the date of our decision letter.
To ask us to change our decision
You must write to the Appeals Officer, PO Box 3, Manchester, M15 5BA. You can download an appeals form to fill in if you prefer.
Your letter or form should:
Make it clear which decision you mean - include the date of our decision letter and the claim reference.
Say clearly why you think we are wrong.
Give any information or evidence you think we haven't got.
