Article 4 Directions: changing the use of a property from light industry to residential
The Council has made four Article 4 Directions meaning that planning permission will be needed to change the use from light industry (use class B1(c)) to residential. Following a consultation period these were confirmed on 1 April 2019 and the Directions came into force on 1 May 2019. The areas covered by the Directions are:
- North East City Centre and Strangeways
- Parts of North Manchester including
- Hendham Vale Industrial park
- Central Park (North and South)
- Tulketh Street Industrial Estate
- Ardwick, Bradford and Gorton North Industrial Areas
- Parts of South Manchester including
- Siemens, Chorlton Park
- Parts of Wythenshawe including
- Roundthorn and Oaks Business Parks
- Sharston Industrial Estate
