Students and neighbours
Love thy neighbours
Manchester welcomes students and it's really important that you get on with your neighbours - they might be students like you, a family with young children, or older people. Whoever they are, be mindful of their lifestyle - no one wants to be woken up at all hours or trip over bins on the pavement.
If you are a victim of nuisance neighbours or antisocial behaviour, the following agencies are here to help:
Mediation Manchester
Having difficulties with the people you houseshare with, your landlord or your neighbours? Mediation Manchester may be able to help.
-
It is a free, independent and confidential service.
- It is a voluntary process and all parties have to agree to take part.
- Qualified and experienced mediators use a step-by-step process to help people in dispute reach a mutually acceptable solution.
- Mediators will listen to you; they will not take sides or make judgements.
Antisocial Behaviour Action Team (ASBAT)
Antisocial behaviour can include:
-
loud music,
- verbal abuse,
- harassment
- youth nuisance.
If you have encountered any of these, ASBAT is a confidential service who is there to help. The team aims to act quickly to bring a stop to such behaviour and will take legal action against persisting offenders.
