People & communities Macmillan Information and Support

We are here for you

When you are affected by cancer, it is important you have the right kind of information and support, at the right time.

The Macmillan information and support services are based within libraries, we are here for everyone who lives or works in Manchester.

This includes people who:

  • have a cancer diagnosis;
  • have survived cancer;
  • are living with the effects of a cancer diagnosis;
  • are looking to reduce the risks of cancer;
  • are a carer, relative, or friend of someone with cancer; or
  • are healthcare professionals.

We offer one to one support to people affected by cancer including relatives, partners, carers, friends and colleagues and provide training and cancer awareness sessions.

What our customers said about the service:

  • It was good to go locally, not the hospital; I have had so much treatment at the hospital - One to one service user;
  • There is a lot of support in the group. I realise I'm not alone with cancer and can draw inspiration from other members - Living With & Beyond Cancer group member; and
  • Staff were helpful and understanding. I left with more information than I expected - I didn't realise there was so much support out there - Workshop Participant.
