Volunteering with the service

Sometimes people can be afraid to talk about cancer. After all, it can be a scary subject, but we're here to support people when they need it.

We're looking for people who can help us talk about cancer as part of an ongoing partnership between Macmillan Cancer Support and Manchester City Council. As a volunteer you will help us to reach local communities. Macmillan's ambition is to reach everyone affected by cancer - you can help us to do this.

We have two volunteer opportunities:

Core Volunteers

Supporting staff in cancer awareness and service activity in Manchester, predominantly on week days.

Service Champions

A lighter volunteer role, promoting the service and distributing cancer awareness material within your own communities and workplaces in Manchester.

You don't need to have personal experience of cancer or know lots about it; we will provide all the training you need.
