Parks, leisure and the arts Brooklands Road Conservation Area

Neutral areas

Each of the rectangular shaped sites contributes to the overall concept of a consistent site depth with a residential building positioned towards the front of the site, facing the road and with a substantial rear garden extending deeply to the rear boundary.

The size, shape footprint and positioning of the houses are of great significance in contributing to the character of the conservation area, but the architecture of the buildings, with the exception of Normanhurst, is of secondary value. In that respect only they could be regarded as neutral elements in the conservation area.
