Parks, leisure and the arts Graver Lane Conservation Area

Neutral areas

A number of second half 20th century houses have been introduced to the area, for example on Ingham Street and Rupert Street, on the eastern end of Hulmes Road and on Berry Brow.

Whilst the architectural qualities of these buildings are bland in comparison with the 19th century buildings, they do complete the urban form of following the alignment of roads, thereby continuing the example set by the earlier buildings. In that sense they may be regarded as neutral elements within the conservation area.
