Development Management Contacts

The processing of planning applications and regulation of development is undertaken by Development Control. These activities are carried out by Development Control Processing and three Area Teams.

Technical Support Team

This team deals with processing planning applications, handling fees, site notices, decision notices and the weekly list of applications received.

Area Teams

Manchester City Council has three Development Control teams: City Centre, North Area and South Area.

They provide advice on determining planning applications, carry out planning consultation, and deal with deal with planning appeals as required. Meetings with officers from the Planning Service can be arranged by appointment.

City Centre

Area 1 and 2, covering the retail and commercial core of the City Centre, the area around Victoria Station, Chinatown and the Higher Education Precinct.
