Private hire vehicle

Here you will find relevant information if you wish to apply for a plate for a private hire vehicle plate.

From 1 April 2012 any private hire vehicle fitted with a taximeter and presented for vehicle test at Hammerstone Road garage, will be required to provide a validated certificate from an approved service provider of taximeter testing. The certificate should be issued by an approved service provider who has been added to the Manchester City Council approved list of service providers.

Vehicle licence renewal

We will post your pre-populated vehicle licence renewal form approximately 4-6 weeks before your licence expires. Please complete and submit the form as soon as possible to ensure you are given a convenient vehicle test appointment.

Once you have submitted your application to renewal your vehicle licence and have been given a vehicle test appointment you can contact us by phone, to rearrange or make further a retest appointment.
