Resident telephone survey
What you think matters to us.
Manchester City Council has launched a new rolling telephone and online residents' survey. An independent social research company called Vision Twentyone is conducting the survey.
Manchester City Council works closely with other public services such as the police, health, business and community representatives to make decisions about the services we provide for local people. We need to know what you think about what it's like to live in your area so we can be certain we are dealing with the issues that concern and matter to you.
This questionnaire asks for your opinions about aspects of the quality of life in your local area such as community safety and local services. The findings from this research will be used to see how well Manchester City Council and its partners are doing at delivering the services that matter to you and to decide what needs doing differently in the future.
This new way of talking to our residents has a number of advantages:
- Response rates to telephone surveys tend to be better than to postal surveys, especially in urban areas with young age profiles like Manchester
- The sample can be managed better by using quotas which ensure all demographic groups are well represented
- A rolling survey will provide the Council with up to date information to help us continually improve our services
- Some questions can be changed periodically to focus on seasonal or topical issues
- The target number of responses in certain geographical areas can be increased when necessary
Some important facts for your peace of mind:
- Your answers are anonymous and won't be attributed to you as an individual
- To make sure we speak to a good cross section of people across Manchester we will ask you your age, gender and ethnicity
The Council will not ask you to provide any personal details in a telephone survey, if you are ask for these details do not proceed. Please call Brian Kelly on
