Homes & property Rehousing help if you have a medical condition

More help and support

Do you need a larger property to manage your medical condition?

Do you and your partner need to sleep apart specifically due to a medical condition - if one of you uses noisy medical equipment during the night for instance? Do you need a larger property to allow you to have treatment such as haemodialysis at home, or so that a full-time carer can live with you? We will assess your situation, and could recommend that you are rehoused to a larger property.

Do you need support from a relative or a friend?

Do you need to move home to be closer to a relative or a friend who can help you manage your medical condition? Or does your carer need to move to be closer to you? We will assess the situation, and could award you extra 'medical priority' for rehousing, or give extra 'social' priority to your carer to help them move more quickly.

Do you need sheltered accommodation - independent living for older people with help at hand if you need it?

Are you in hospital and can't return home, because it's impossible for you to use all your facilities?

We can visit you in hospital to see why you can't go home, and look at what type of accommodation you will need. If you are not already registered for rehousing we can register you in hospital, and will look for a suitable property for you.

Are you disabled or do you have a visual or hearing impairment?

We can help you live as independently as possible. Find out more about independent living for disabled people.
