About Debdale Outdoor Centre

Debdale Outdoor Centre is a modern purpose-built outdoor centre owned and operated by Manchester City Council. We provide an exciting range of activities in Greater Manchester and further a field in the Peak District, North Wales and North West England.

The Centre caters for a wide variety of clients of all ages and educational abilities, with the emphasis being on practical learning and appropriate theory lessons integrated into our courses.

Activities available include dinghy sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and kayaking, powerboating, rock climbing, abseiling, hillwalking, gorge scrambling, orienteering, camping, navigation, multi-activity and team-building activities.

We have courses available for adults and children, individuals and groups, at various levels from novice to advanced. All staff are fully qualified and experienced. Our courses are structured to promote your learning in a safe and enjoyable environment.

NB. During our 2008 season, our water activities will take place at Audenshaw reservoir in Tameside, while our permanent water in Gorton is temporarily closed for maintenance. This is an excellent venue for watersports, and we plan to minimise any inconvenience to our users throughout this period.

You should arrive at Debdale Outdoor Centre as usual, unless informed otherwise in your joining instructions.
