Summary
No person shall carry on the business of a hairdresser or barber unless they are registered with by the local authority. Any premises occupied by them for the purpose of that business shall also be registered by the local authority.
In the case of mobile hairdressers, the premises to be registered is the home address of the hairdresser / barber, or any premises where equipment is stored and maintained. -

Validity / Renewals
Registration will remain in force until either the business ceases to exist or registration is cancelled. -

Processing Timescales
A Public Protection Officer will undertake an inspection of premises. If the inspection is satisfactory the licence will be granted and issued within 28 days of receipt of the application. -
